Ways to show your appreciation:
Classroom Gifts

Donating to the Classroom Gift is a great way to support your student's teacher and enhance the classroom experience. Donations are collected once per year for each classroom by clicking on the gift tag shown above. Contributions to classroom gifts are completely optional!

Room Parents are responsible for purchasing the gifts using the donations collected. A portion of your donation will be used to purchase gifts for Art, Music, PE, Library and Spanish.

All Staff Appreciation

We have a wonderful team of volunteers who organize appreciation initiatives throughout the year for all of the Nixon Teachers and Staff. You can make a direct donation to show your appreciation for the hard work they do! Click the heart above to make a donation today.

Spirit Day Bookmarks

Last week on Spirit Day, students were given a bookmark  to color and use for their reading at school.

Our PTO Spirit Committee works hard to make special gifts and activities so your student can feel connected to their school and take pride in being a part of a community.

5th Grade Commemorative Shirts

Class of 2022 shirts are now on sale at our Nixon Store!

T-Shirt scholarships are available.

Please contact Jo-Ann_Schuster@sudbury.k12.ma.us

What does volunteering look like?

Volunteering with the PTO opens opportunities for you to engage with your student and their classmates during school hours and learn more about what's going on at school. If you have been hesitant to sign up to volunteer, please reach out to us with questions. These opportunities can be so rewarding and we hope to have all parents engaged in some way throughout the year.

Choosing books at the Book Fair

Do you have a flexible work schedule? Can you spare an hour during the day to come into the school? Volunteering for the PTO can be as simple as helping students choose books at the book fair!

Prepping materials for Spirit Day

Volunteering for the PTO can be as simple as cutting book marks for the students to celebrate Spirit Day! Easy to do on your own time.

Looking for a Yoga Instructor

We are looking for a new Yoga Instructor to be a part of the PTO sponsored educational enrichment program at Nixon school. The instructor would teach classes focusing on relaxation and mindfulness to Kindergarten and First Grade students.

Payment is negotiable and there is some flexibility in the schedule.

Instructors would need to fill out a criminal record information form CORI and have it on file at the school. Instructors would also need to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination and wear a face mask while in the school building.

If you, or anyone you know might be interested, please contact enrichment@nixonpto.org

Volunteers Needed
Help create a new event!

We were thinking it might be fun to try a virtual BINGO night, pajama themed! We could send home bingo cards and markers, and students would get cozy in their pajamas from home and log into a virtual event to play and win cozy prizes like slippers, blankets, socks, stuffed animals, mugs of hot chocolate mix, etc.

Please sign up to volunteer if you are interested in helping to plan this new event!

Auction Committee

The Nixon PTO's largest fundraising event is the Spring Auction and adult social! A lot of preparation goes into this event, so we would like to ask for volunteers to show their interest in helping plan this event now!
