So many thanks to Mrs. Logan

For many of us, Molly Logan was the first person we met when joining Nixon School, and has been the most frequent contact we all have had as our kids come and go five days a week. We are sad to learn that tomorrow is her last day at Nixon school.

Safety is high on everyone's priority list and Molly was the gate keeper who guarded our children from the moment they were dropped off in the morning to the moment they headed home in the afternoon. Coordinating 300+ student's schedules with a thousand moving parts is not easy, but somehow, Molly did it methodically without fail.

Molly is a wonderfully organized person with incredible attention to detail. We call her the master of multitasking! She made time for each and every parent (with all of our crazy questions and requests) even during those moments when she was juggling all the balls in the air.

Whether it was the lunch box we forgot to put in our kid's backpack, the thousand emails with adjustments to the pick-up routine or the million slips of paper handed to her by students, we always knew that Molly would take care of it. Someone like that really shapes the character of an organization in such a positive way.

Many families may not realize, but Molly has contributed so much time and attention to making PTO initiatives successful. Molly has been our right hand in everything we do. She facilitated the involvement of the community in educational and fun experiences we initiated and made specific efforts to ensure we all felt connected. Above and beyond schedules and logistics, Molly has been there to make sure that we are a part of the Nixon team every step of the way. She has taught us so many different skills about how to effectively execute our mission. Her kind words of encouragement, often coming at just the right moment, were so appreciated by so many volunteers who felt unsettled.

We really saw her Nixon pride shine through. The days when she would complete a spirit day project at her desk with markers, scissors and glue made us all smile. More importantly, she optimizes the C.A.R.E.S. core values demonstrating enormous dedication to the well being of the parents, students and staff. This was apparent to all of us, every day.

Our community, and especially those of us who got the chance to work with her closely, have immense respect for her. We can't thank her enough for all of her contributions to our community both big and small.

We wish you well Mrs. Logan

and will miss you so much!

Help create a new event!

We were thinking it might be fun to try a virtual BINGO night, pajama themed! We could send home bingo cards and markers, and students would get cozy in their pajamas from home and log into a virtual event to play and win cozy prizes like slippers, blankets, socks, stuffed animals, mugs of hot chocolate mix, etc.

Please sign up to volunteer if you are interested in helping to plan this new event!
