The Fun Run is over, and October is here

It’s warm outside, but kids know Fall is near,

Which means it’s that time to celebrate Fall Fest

Come party with us and give Autumn your best!

Sponsored by the PTO, The Annual Nixon Fall Fest is upon us. Fall Fest will take place Friday, October 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM in the Nixon Rotunda Parking Lot.

Purchase your tickets here, in advance, for your family for $25. Family packages sold at Fall Fest at the door will cost $30.

Ticket includes entrance into the event, (1) cake walk round and (1) donut eating round. Extra game tickets can be purchased at the door as well! 

We will have food trucks from The Melt, Rolling Pizza Kitchen, and Trombetta’s, games, crafts, Cake Walks, Donuts-on-a-String and more. And our Book Fair kicks off that night as well!

Please volunteer here to help keep this night moving! We are looking for volunteers to help us set up, work the check in booth, monitor games, help at the Book Fair and help chaperone the jammin' dance party in the gym! The more volunteers, the better the night.

Lastly, we need cakes! The cake walk is a fan favorite and we need your help to make the beloved cake walk a grand success. We'll be doing things a bit differently this year and will be running 2 circles concurrently and you know what that means - more chances to win! More winners means we need MORE cakes. All donated items must be store bought, in the original packaging and have clearly marked ingredients and allergy information. We're looking for cakes, pies, cupcakes - all the good stuff. And yes, if you're new here and wondering, the kids actually win an ENTIRE cake. When signing up please indicate what item you'll be contributing. Donations will be collected at the school starting Wednesday, October 15 through Friday, October 17 at 2:30 (Fall Fest Day)! Sign up to donate a cake here!

Class of 2026 5th Grade Committee

Our fifth graders have come so far and learned so much in elementary school, and this is a great time to celebrate all of the Nixon memories they have made. To help make this year special for our children - the 5th Grade Committee is planning several fun events throughout the year. The special 5th grade activities that our children will have the opportunity to participate in include: 

FUNDRAISING – 5th graders organize and execute fundraisers to pay for the 5th grade events such as the 5th grade car wash, bake sale tables and a coin competition. 

First fundraising event of the year: Table at Fall Fest on 10/17. Sign up HERE to donate and volunteer.

Second fundraising event of the year: Splash and Dash car wash on 10/18. Sign up HERE to volunteer.

T-SHIRTS – The class gets custom shirts to wear to all of their special events! 

SOCIALS – 5th graders get unique social experiences like bowling, movie night and 5th grade field day! 

SERVICE – Students participate in a service project in addition to their specific assigned jobs around Nixon. 

END OF THE YEAR CELEBRATION – Students have a special end-of-the-year beach party to wind down their last year of elementary school! 

WINGS OF WISDOM – A wonderful ceremony in June to celebrate their graduation from elementary school. 

If you would like to help plan the special events for your 5th grader, please sign up on the online Volunteer Central form, and we will be in touch to coordinate volunteers. Any help is welcome!
